Hi there...so nice to meet you! We are a family run, veteran/woman/LGBT+ owned business whose passion is to create authentic, approachable “farm-to-bottle” spirit products that bring people together for an experience we call “Time Well Spent”. Everything we craft is meant to be easy for you and your friends to enjoy, while old stories are told and new memories are made. Chris Moyer distills our spirits. Jennifer Moyer (his wife) creates our cocktails. Stephen Theiss (her brother) packages them. Together we are the Hudson Valley Distillers & Hudson Cocktail Company Family.

What exactly is...Time Well Spent?
On its face, it may seem like we are in the business of creating cocktails. And while we certainly understand the assumption, we kindly disagree. We are, in fact, in the business of creating quality time. Let us explain…
It’s no coincidence that our motto is “Time Well Spent”. It’s just a fun way to say quality time. And we firmly believe that everyone should have as much quality time as possible. Personally, we love spending time with good people over some good cocktails and great conversation. And the only occasion we need is the opportunity to get to know each other better.
Our family spends time creating authentically craft-quality recipes and time batching them with quality, all-natural ingredients so that when the day ends, we can spend more time enjoying the moments and the people that matter. The best part is that it’s ironically not time spent at all. Why? Because the time simply expands. The quality time that we spend together making great cocktails is more quality time that you get to spend together not having to make great cocktails (or suffering through lackluster imitations). And we happily share that quality time with you and yours.

It's a little bit funny...how we got here.
It all started with husband-and-wife team Chris and Jennifer Moyer. In 2014 they moved their family from the bustle of Northern VA to settle into a quieter, more wholesome community with the dream of building a business together. Honoring the traditions of the Hudson Valley (once known as the nation’s bread basket), they went to work on creating their “farm-to-bottle” spirits using ingredients sourced in their own Hudson Valley “backyard”. Chris made spirits, and Jennifer began crafting her own cocktails with simple, all-natural ingredients designed to showcase those spirits in their tasting room. Slowly, but surely, the business grew and in 2019, Jennifer’s brother, Stephen, joined the team to help with packaging. In 2021 he moved to NY full time to continue working on their flagship brand, Hudson Cocktail Company. What led to that? It’s kind of a crazy story…
It was 2020 and the height of COVID 19. Chris, Jennifer, and Stephen had turned their distillery into a hand sanitizer factory while simultaneously continuing to produce and sell their spirits. Stephen - who was still living in CA at the time - had driven the 3,000 miles to stay and work with them on site. Fortuitously, the great state of NY allowed what they called “To-Go Cocktails” to be sold from distilleries and restaurants, which meant that we could batch the cocktails that Jennifer had created for the tasting room and send folks home with them. Boom. A flash of light. What if we took her recipes and put the cocktails into bottles that people could buy in stores? After some trial in our “neighborhood” we realized we were on to something. People love cocktails. And even more, people love spending quality time enjoying with friends and family over cocktails. What they don’t love is making them. What they love even less are bad cocktails. So…we had a mission. The mission was to re-create Jennifer’s widely loved cocktails in bottles that could be sold in stores without compromising flavor or ingredients. It was much harder than we could have anticipated, but after extensive research and many long days, nights, and often weekends of experimentation, our vision started coming to life. In 2021 we launched our first “ready to pour” cocktails now known as Hudson Cocktail Company bottled cocktails. We are excited for you to experience them for yourself!
